In an
exciting match on Sunday 30/10/11, the defending
champions St. Mary’s Dubai overcame the challenge of the
visitor team DPS, Bangalore by 65- 52 points in the 6th
Sundeep Batavia Memorial Inter School basketball
tournament for boys. In the first and third quarter of
the match, St. Mary’s boys scored 18 & 21 against 12 & 5
respectively. But the visitors stunned the defending
champion by scoring 17 & 18 in the second and fourth
quarter against 13 & 13 respectively. Victor Emeka
Junior scored 23 points for the winners assisted by
Edwin Vargees with 12 points. Meanwhile Sachin and Kedar
scored 14 each for the visiting team.
In
another match the host DPS, Sharjah boys defeated
Our Own English High School, Sharjah by 69- 20 points.
Adeeb Iqbal scored the bulk of baskets with 22 points
and assisted by Sanjeed Malik 14 and Karun Kumar 12

Sharjah. Ashwin Ramesh displayed outstanding performance
for the winners with 25 points and assisted by Munif
Mohammed 17 and Aatif Ahmed 10 each. Jerry Bobby scored
20 points and Hamim Hilal 14 for Dps Dubai.
In the
late evening match, NIMS, Sharjah, the last year runner
up trounced Our Own English High School ,Al Ain by 78-57
points. Muhammed Jasim scored bulk of the baskets for
the winners with 30 points and assisted by Abhil Dev
Arun and Muneer Mohammed with 17 and 14 respectively.
