                                  DPS, Bangalore goes down fighting

In an exciting match on Sunday 30/10/11, the defending champions St. Mary’s Dubai overcame the challenge of the visitor team DPS, Bangalore by 65- 52 points in the 6th Sundeep Batavia Memorial Inter School basketball tournament for boys. In the first and third quarter of the match, St. Mary’s boys scored 18 & 21 against 12 & 5 respectively. But the visitors stunned the defending champion by scoring 17 & 18 in the second and fourth quarter against 13 & 13 respectively.  Victor Emeka Junior scored 23 points for the winners assisted by Edwin Vargees with 12 points. Meanwhile Sachin and Kedar scored 14 each for the visiting team.

In another match the host DPS, Sharjah boys defeated Our Own English High School, Sharjah by 69- 20 points. Adeeb Iqbal scored the bulk of baskets with 22 points and assisted by Sanjeed Malik 14 and Karun Kumar 12 points for the winners.

Our Own English High School, Al Ain outplayed Winchester School, Dubai

In the early morning match, Our Own English High School, Al Ain outplayed Winchester School, Dubai by 52 – 40 in the Sundeep Batavia Memorial Inter School basketball tournament for boys. Joyal George scored the bulk of the baskets for the winners and assisted by Abby Antoo Antony with 16 points. Aaron of Winchester scored 21 points for the losers. 

Dubai Modern High School defeats DPS, Dubai 

In an exciting match Dubai Modern High School defeated DPS, Dubai by 65-56 in the Sundeep Batavia Memorial Inter School basketball tournament for boys, organized by DPS, Sharjah. Ashwin Ramesh displayed outstanding performance for the winners with 25 points and assisted by Munif Mohammed 17 and Aatif Ahmed 10 each. Jerry Bobby scored 20 points and Hamim Hilal 14 for Dps Dubai.

In the late evening match, NIMS, Sharjah, the last year runner up trounced Our Own English High School ,Al Ain by 78-57 points.   Muhammed Jasim scored bulk of the baskets for the winners with 30 points and assisted by Abhil Dev Arun and Muneer Mohammed with 17 and 14 respectively. Joyal George scored 35 points for the losers.

             St. Mary’s Dubai trounces The Millennium School, Dubai

In an easy match, the defending champion St. Mary’s, Dubai trounced The Millennium School,Dubai by 65 – 12 points.  In the first quarter St. Mary’s boys dominated over Millennium with 24 points and in the second and third quarter Millennium could not score even a single basket. Bradley Jordan of the winner’s scored18 points assisted by Victor and Laurance with 9 points each. 

The Indian High School ,Dubai outplayed Our Own Engish High School ,Sharjah

The Indian High School Dubai outplayed Our Own Engish High School Sharjah by 66- 20. Ahraz Asad scored bulk of the basket with 25 points for the winners.

          Dubai Modern High School defeats Emirates National School

Dubai Modern High School defeated Emirates National School by 66 runs in the 8th Sandeep Batavia Memorial Inter School Cricket U/12 tournament for boys. In the allotted 15 overs Dubai Modern able to score 136 runs for 6 wickets. Meantime ENS could manage 70 runs for 6 wickets. Thushar scored 58 runs from 31 balls not out for the winners. 

                                  Dps Dubai won by 10 wickets

Dps Dubai won by 10 wickets in an easy match against Winchester School. Winchester School could score 89 runs for 2 wickets in the allotted 15 overs. Meanwhile Dps Dubai boys could manage 90 runs from 3.4 overs. Vivek named the Man of the match 33 runs from 32 balls not out.

                                TIS Bangalore trounces Dubai Modern

The International School Bangalore trounced Dubai Modern by 71 – 52 in the 6th Sundeep Batavia Memorial Inter School basketball tournament for boys. They  got clear lead in the second quarter with 28 points against 12 and managed to maintain the lead throughout the match. Krishna Chaitanya scored bulk of the basket with 38 points and assisted by Nikhil Brian with 20 points for the visitors. Ashwin Ramesh scored 21 points for the losers. 

                                     NIMS Sharjah wins

The last year’s runner up NIMS, Sharjah outplayed Winchester Dubai by 43- 27 points. Mohammed Jazim scored12, Muneer Mohammed 9 and Ali Sali 8 points for the winners.   Edward scored 12 points for the losers.

               Our Own English High School girls defeat Modern High

Our own English High School, Dubai defeated Modern High, Dubai in a neck to neck match by 20-16 points in the 6th Sundeep Batavia Memorial Inter School basketball tournament for girls. Priyanjali Guha scored 8 points for the winners.

Winchester Dubai girls outplayed Our own English High School ,Sharjah by 30 – 16 points. Chona and Stancy scored 8 points each for the winners. Sanjana scored 7 points for the losers.

DPS, Sharjah, boys and girls reached in the Quarterfinals of 6th Sundeep Batavia Memorial Inter School basketball tournament for boys & girls after defeating The Indian High School, Dubai 45-29 and Our own English High School, Sharjah 39-6 respectively. Abraham Jule scored 17 points and Adeeb Iqbal scored 16 points for Dps boys. Meanwhile Ahraz Asad scored 13 points for the THIS Dubai.

In another match, St. Mary’s Dubai girls outplayed Winchester Dubai by 35 – 15 points. Natasha 17 and Shalene 14 points scored for the winners. 

In an unchallenged match Millennium Dubai girls trounced the last year’s runner up Our own English High School Dubai by 33-4 points. Susmita Shenoi 15 and Shreya Munge 8 points scored for the winners.

Indian School Muscat defeated DPS Boys team by 7 wickets in the 8th Sundeep Batavia Memorial Inter School Cricket tournament for under 12 boys on 31/10/11. In the allotted 15 overs DPS boys scored 61 runs for 7 wickets meanwhile Indian School Muscat boys could manage 62 runs for 3 wickets from 7.3 overs.  

                                              OOEHS Sharjah wins

In another match Our own English High School ,Sharjah trounced Winchester School by 9 wickets. In the allotted 15 overs Winchester boys managed to score only 61 runs for 6 wickets. Meanwhile OOEHS Sharjah ,boys could accomplish the target 64 runs from 9 overs for 1 wicket. Pratheek of OOEHS, Sharjah named the man of the match with 33 runs from 27 balls not out.

In an exciting match the visitor team DPS,Bangalore defeated the host team DPS, Sharjah by 39 – 27 points in the 6th Sundeep Batavia Memorial Inter School basketball tournament for boys. DPS, Bangalore excelled in rebound collections and counter attacks meanwhile DPS, Sharjah boys failed to convert many attempts into basket. DPS, Bangalore will encounter the winners of NIMS, Sharjah Vs Dubai Modern on Wednesday. AK Narasimhan displayed outstanding performance for the winners with 20 points. On an equal footing, Adeeb Iqbal displayed his talent by securing 16 points for DPS, Sharjah.

The defending champions St.Mary’s Dubai reached the  Semifinals by defeating The Indian High School, Dubai by 66-21 points in the 6th Sundeep Batavia Memorial Inter School basketball tournament for boys. St. Mary’s will face the winners of TIS Bangalore V/s Our Own Al Ain on Wednesday.

The defending champion DPS, Sharjah girls outplayed Winchester Dubai in an unchallenged match by 57-12 points in the 6th Sundeep Batavia Memorial Inter School basketball tournament for girls. DPS, Sharjah will meet DPS,Dubai in Semifinals on Wednesday. Najat Abdul Wahab and Juliet Johny scored 19 points each for the winners.

St. Mary’s Dubai girls defeated OOEHS Sharjah by 34-20 points and reached in the semifinals. St. Mary’s Dubai girls will meet Millennium Dubai in semifinals on Wednesday. Andrea and Shalene Sharika scored 14 points each for the winners.

DPS, Bangalore boys trounced Millennium school Dubai by 50- 11 in the 6th Sundeep Batavia Memorial Inter School basketball tournament for boys. Karthik 13, A K Narasimhan 12 and sachin 9 points scored for the visitors.

In another exciting match, the visitors of the tournament, The international School Bangalore overcame the challenge of DPS,Dubai boys by 54-36 points. In the first quarter both the team scored 9 points each but in the second and third quarter TIS Bangalore boys gained clear lead of 19 and 12 points against 12 and 6 points respectively. Krishna Chaitanya displayed brilliant performance by scoring 32 points and assisted by Nikhil Brian with 14 points for the winners. Jerry Bobby scored 18 points for the losers.

DPS, Dubai girls defeated Dubai Modern High School in a challenging match by 15 – 2 points.

Millennium Dubai girls trounced OOE HS Dubai by 33 – 4 points. Susmita Shenoi scored 15 points for the winners.

Dps Bangalore, the visitors of the tournament will meet the defending champions St. Mary’s Dubai in the finals of 6th Sundeep Batavia Memorial Inter School basketball tournament for boys on Thursday. Dps Bangalore outplayed the last year’s runner up NIMS Sharjah in the Semifinals by 64 -33 points. Dps Bangalore excelled in defensive, rebound collections and counter attacks while NIMS Sharjah could not convert many attempts into basket.

 St. Mary’s Dubai defeated OOEHS Al Ain by 67 – 27 points in the Semifinals. St. Mary’s Dubai dominated over the opponent throughout the match and could convert most of their chances into basket. In the first and third quarter St. Mary’s Dubai scored 21 & 16 points against 16 & 5 points respectively. Victor Emeka displayed outstanding performance for St. Mary’s with 23 points and assisted by Edwin Varghese 13 points and Arman Joseph 11 points.  Joyal George scored 10 points for OOEHS Al Ain.

Dps Sharjah will meet Millennium in finals

In the girl’s finals, the defending champions Dps sharjah will meet Millennium Dubai on Thursday. Dps Sharjah trounced Dps Dubai by 57 – 9 points in an unchallenged semifinal match while Millennium defeated St. Mary’s Dubai by 41- 16 points. Shreya Munge scored 14 points and assisted by Susmita and Rhea with 10 & 9 respectively for the Millennium team. Andrea scored 10 points for St. Mary’s Dubai. For Dps Sharjah, Juliet Johny, Najat Abdul Wahab and Spoorthy scored 24, 14 and 8 points respectively.

Cricket: Dubai Modern School in finals

In the cricket finals, Dubai Modern School will meet the winners of Dps Sharjah Vs Indian School Muscat in the finals on Thursday. Dubai Modern defeated OOEHS Sharjah by 10 wickets in the semifinals. In the allotted 15 overs OOEHS Sharjah able to score 83 runs for 5 wickets. Meanwhile Dubai Modern managed to score the targets from 9.5 overs without losing any wickets. Rohan scored 36 runs from 26 balls not out and assisted by Pranav with 21 runs from 22 balls not out.
